A man was killed when he was attempting to take shelter from a storm in a parking lot in Florida. According to the local police, the man was run over and killed while he was in the parking lot.
Early on Monday morning, Daniel Hodge, who was 53 years old, was killed when he attempted to hide from the rain by hiding beneath a parked vehicle. It has been determined that the driver in question will not face any criminal charges in connection with Hodge’s passing.
A conclusion has been reached regarding the investigation into the death of Daniel J. Hodge, which took place on Monday, June 16, 2025. According to a statement released by the police, “no criminal charges are being pursued in connection with this incident.”
During the overnight hours between Sunday and Monday, Hodge allegedly climbed beneath a commercial vehicle, according to the police.
It took the driver approximately one hour to arrive at the parking lot and load the vehicle after she had fallen under the vehicle. Unbeknownst to the driver, Hodge was concealed beneath the trailer of the vehicle as they drove out of the parking lot.
During the process of the vehicle leaving the parking lot, Hodge reportedly sustained injuries that proved to be fatal, as police have reported.
Two days earlier, a tragic accident that occurred on a roadway in Florida claimed the life of another individual.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, three vehicles collided with a 30-year-old man who was attempting to run across the Florida Turnpike on Saturday in Orange County.
According to state troopers, the collision took place close to State Route 417 as the clock struck nine o’clock. The man is said to have dashed straight into the southbound lanes of the Turnpike after running from the fence line. A Toyota Highlander and a Chevrolet Silverado were the vehicles that collided with him.
The individual was originally from Hollywood, Florida. His name has not been made public by the police, nor has they provided any explanation as to why he might have rushed out into the busy traffic on the turnpike.
