Florida Woman Charged After Allegedly Swiping $106K in Jewelry from Senior Next Door

Deputy sheriffs in Collier County have filed charges of felony theft against a woman who is accused of stealing jewelry with a value of more than 106 thousand dollars from an elderly neighbor who had hired her to walk her dog.

According to the arrest report filed by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Dana Dorothy Seifert, who is 52 years old, admitted to stealing and giving away jewelry that belonged to her neighbor, who is 83 years old.

On the second of June, the woman reported that several valuable items had been taken from her residence, which prompted another investigation.

Seifert was found to have pawned two stolen items at local shops, which resulted in the recovery of an 18-karat diamond ring and a diamond Bertolucci watch among the items that were recovered. Additional items, such as gold charms, were also pawned; however, the authorities have noted that a diamond ring that was valued at $87,960 has not yet been recovered.

In the course of the interrogation, Seifert admitted to having stolen the jewelry; however, he stated that certain items had been discovered outside of Wright’s residence rather than inside. Seifert, who has been charged with similar offenses in the past, explained her actions by claiming that she was struggling with an addiction to crack cocaine.

She has been charged with a variety of offenses, including grand theft from an individual who is over the age of 65 and defrauding pawnbrokers.
