Georgia Man Arrested on Charges of Felony Murder Following Investigation by GBI

In connection with the shooting death of a guy who was 41 years old, a man from Georgia was taken into custody because he was charged with felony murder.

Tashawn Boyd, age 31, from Thomson, Georgia, was taken into custody by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and charged with felony murder as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

An investigation into a fatality that had taken place earlier that evening was requested by the Thomson Police Department on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., in order to receive assistance from the GBI.

It has been determined from preliminary information that officers from the Thomson Police Department responded to the 400 block of Bussey Avenue at approximately nine o’clock in the evening in response to a report of a male who had been shot. During a fight that took place in the front yard of a house, Boyd shot the victim, who has been named as Michaeline Lowe, at the age of 41 and a resident of Thomson, Georgia.

It was determined that Lowe had passed away after he was transported to a nearby hospital.

Not long after midnight on June 20, 2025, Boyd presented himself to the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office in order to surrender himself.
