Girl Found Dead in Hotel Room After Mom Claims Husband Owns It and Enters to 'Check Staff'

They were asked to check on a woman who was experiencing a mental health crisis on Friday, and when they arrived, they found the body of her small daughter, who was “malnourished and mummified.” This was a shocking discovery for the police team in Tennessee.

Now, her mother, Kimberly Moore, who is 46 years old, is being accused of failing to report a dead body and using a corpse in an abusive manner.

Moore began making strange statements that her husband owned the hotel and that she wanted to “ensure employees were doing their job,” according to a probable cause arrest affidavit that was obtained by local. On Friday, deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Home Inn and Suites in Memphis after Moore began with these statements.

As the officers came, Moore reportedly continued to make the assertions to them. However, the deputies did not show much worry until they “smelled a strong odor emitting from the room” where the defendant was staying, according to the affidavit.

Within the room, the police discovered her daughter “laying in the hotel bed unresponsive, cold to the touch, malnourished, and mummified.” The police stepped into the room to find her daughter. No information on the girl’s age or the cause of death was included in the report. Furthermore, the authorities did not provide a date on which she passed away, stating only that she had been present “for quite some time.” There is also a lack of clarity over whether Moore will be subject to additional charges.

According to the findings of the investigation, Moore was experiencing a crisis related to his mental health. It was said that she refused to answer the questions that were posed by the investigators and that she continued to say that her daughter was “still with her” and that she “reads Bible.”

Moore is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail on a bond of $5,000. He was provided with medical treatment at a healthcare facility. On Monday, she is expected to appear in court for the next time.
