On Sunday, June 22, a helicopter flipped over and crashed as it was parked outside of a restaurant in the southeast region of Michigan. Residents of the surrounding area were filming the incident from their backyards.
Over the course of the weekend, residents of Michigan witnessed a helicopter make an emergency landing in front of a restaurant located in the southeastern region of the state.
This photograph was taken by Valerie DiBattista, who was able to capture the moment of the collision as it occurred from a backyard in Clay Township.
“I recorded the helicopter flying close to the water and it looked like he was coming in for a landing,” DiBattista explained to Storyful. “The pilot slowly lowered his helicopter to the ground and the legs touched the ground, but all of a sudden the tail end of the helicopter flew up, causing the blades of the helicopter to touch the ground.”
Following the collision, witnesses who were present at the restaurant rushed to the location.
According to Michigan Live, which cited the Clay Township Police Department, first responders stated that the individuals who were in the helicopter were brought to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Nobody who was a bystander was hurt in the collision.
