High-Speed Collision in Canandaigua Sends Teen to Hospital in Critical Condition

A young person who was involved in a collision with two vehicles on Eastern Boulevard in Canandaigua, Ontario County, on Saturday night, and who sustained injuries that are considered to be life-threatening, according to the police.

Canandaigua Police say that Victor Giso, 18, of Caledona, Livingston County, was driving a car west on Eastern Boulevard just after 7 o’clock when his vehicle crossed the center median, traveled through the eastbound lanes of the road, crossed a ditch, and entered the Parkway Plaza parking lot. There, the sedan collided with a sport utility vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign with the plaza. Giso was pronounced dead at the scene.

Giso was alleged to have sustained “critical life-threatening injuries” as a consequence of the crash, according to the authorities. Officers stated that the adolescent was initially transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, and then in order to receive medical attention, he was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. According to a hospital spokeswoman, he was classified as being in guarded condition when the hospital opened on Monday morning.

It was reported by the authorities that the driver of the SUV, a 55-year-old male from Webster, sustained minor injuries. His passenger, a woman from Webster who was 52 years old, did not sustain any injuries.

The police are currently conducting an investigation into the collision, but they have stated that they believe Giso “lost consciousness for an unknown reason” right prior to the collision.
