DeMotte, IN – As the holiday season approaches, the Keener Township Volunteer Fire Department is rallying community support to fight hunger by hosting its annual Fill-A-Truck Food Drive this Friday, November 22.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., a fire engine will be prominently stationed outside Strack & Van Til in DeMotte to collect donations of canned goods, boxed meals, and other nonperishable food items. These contributions will directly benefit local families, providing much-needed assistance during the busy holiday season.
Community Unites to Support Local Families
The food drive is a crucial effort to restock the shelves of the DeMotte Good Neighbor Food Pantry, which serves many residents facing food insecurity in Jasper County and surrounding areas.
The Keener Township VFD emphasized the importance of these donations in a recent social media post:
“All donations will be delivered to the DeMotte Good Neighbor Food Pantry.”
