L.A. Man Arrested in San Diego After Ex-Girlfriend Found Murdered

According to an announcement made by the San Diego Police Department on Sunday, a man was taken into custody on suspicion of murdering his ex-girlfriend, who had been reported missing under suspicious circumstances.

Lt. Arturo Swadener stated in a press release that on Tuesday, officers from the Southern Division of the San Diego Police Department conducted an investigation into a woman who had gone missing and was 33 years old. “During the investigation, detectives gathered facts that led them to believe the victim was deceased,” according to the investigator.

After thereafter, the Homicide Unit of the San Diego Police Department took over the case and “developed further information that led them to believe that the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Eduardo Magana, who is 48 years old, was involved in her disappearance,” Swadener noted.

Detectives, according to Swadener, discovered that Magana was residing in La Puente, which is a city located in Los Angeles County, and traveled there in order to locate him.

Detectives from the San Diego Police Department conducted an interview with Magana after he was detained by authorities during a traffic stop in the city of Southgate, according to Swadener. Following this, Magana was taken into custody by the police and lodged into the San Diego County Jail.
