Lenape High School Senior Killed, Two Injured in Hopewell Township Crash

According to statements Philadelphia by police and school authorities, a collision that occurred on Route 31 in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the death of one high school senior and injured two others.

According to the Hopewell Township Police Department, the collision took place on the two-lane road that stretched between Titus Mill Road and Hopewell-Pennington Road in Mercer County. The teenagers from Lenape High School were travelling in a Honda Civic at the time of the incident. It was just after twelve o’clock when officers arrived at the site.

Despite the fact that the pupils have not been made publically known, the principal of Lenape High School, Tony Cattani, wrote a letter to the community of the school on Tuesday, stating that “our Lenape Family suffered a tragic loss.”

We would like to express our deepest condolences to the student’s family and friends, and we would like to ask you to join us in respecting their privacy as they take time to grieve during this extremely trying time. Cattani added, “We are aware that this loss will be felt throughout our entire school and throughout our entire district at large.”

According to the police, the accident took place when a Honda that was travelling south headed into the northbound lane and then crashed head-on with a tractor-trailer that was travelling in the other direction.

According to the authorities, the other two senior citizens from Lenape incurred critical injuries as a result of the collision.

Lenape was visited by counsellors from the Burlington County Crisis Response Team on Wednesday in order to provide emotional support to the community. It was Cattani’s recommendation that parents encourage their children to have open conversations about how they are feeling about the tragedy, and that they get in touch with the Lenape Counselling Centre if any of their students require additional counselling support.

In this tremendously trying time, we want to express our thoughts and prayers to each and every family that has been affected. “As we work through this tragedy, I am confident that our school community will come together to support one another with compassion and care, just as they have done in the past,” said Cattani. “Please continue to look after one another.”
