According to a spokeswoman for the District Attorney’s Office, a man was taken into custody on Saturday when he was participating in a rally in Chester County.
An individual who was carrying a firearm was observed by the group of individuals who were taking part in the event as they marched down North High Street in the central business district of West Chester, according to the officials.
According to the officials, the group informed officers of the West Chester Police Department, who were subsequently able to locate the individual and subsequently detained him for the purpose of conducting a search.
A neighbor of West Chester named Tommy Donnelly expressed his concern to NBC10, saying, “It’s scary to see that kind of thing here, especially in this kind of area.”
The individual was taken into custody when the police discovered an unlicensed weapon within his possession, according to the officials. He does not possess a permit that allows him to conceal and carry a concealed weapon.
At least five law enforcement officers can be seen around a man who is wearing a bright yellow jacket and searching through his pockets in a video that has been shared due to its widespread distribution on the internet.
It seems as though the officers are pulling numerous magazine clips out of the man’s jacket, as seen in the video.
The identify of the suspect has not been disclosed by the authorities, nor have charges been filed against him.
During the course of this occurrence, nobody was wounded. An inquiry is now being conducted.
According to Marlene Adams, who frequently travels to West Chester, “I think if the police handled the situation and minimized any damage, I think they did a really good thing,” she said.
