A sad accident involving an excavator has resulted in a worker being struck by logs, and the authorities are currently investigating the incident.
On Wednesday morning, just before 9 o’clock, law enforcement reported that they were dispatched to the 3700 block of Spring Road in response to an incident that included a worker and an excavator.
It was stated by the authorities that upon their arrival, they found a guy using an excavator on the property in order to collect and remove trees that had fallen.
During the operation of the excavator, the victim was struck by a tree that became entangled in the machinery causing it to rotate. This is according to the authorities.
According to the authorities, the guy, who was identified as Steven Gill, was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, but he ultimately passed away as a result of his injuries.
Steven Gill, who was 36 years old and from West Penn Township, was verified to have passed away by the coroner at 9:49 in the morning.
According to the findings of the Lehigh County coroner, the death was the result of an accident, and blunt force injuries were the responsible cause of death.
The head injuries that Gill sustained were reportedly caused by many tree logs, according to the coroner’s office.
