Manchester Collision Involving Patrol Car and Bicyclist: Names of Those Involved Revealed

The collision that occurred between a Manchester police vehicle and a juvenile cyclist over the weekend has been the subject of additional information that has been made public.

On the evening of Friday, May 30th, at approximately nine o’clock, the accident took place close to Kwik Star in Manchester.

The Iowa State Patrol has been the agency in charge of the investigation, and on Friday afternoon, they disclosed additional information regarding the incident.

As stated in the accident report filed by the Iowa State Patrol, the Manchester police patrol vehicle, which was a 2024 Ford Explorer, was being driven by Nick Hall, who is 27 years old and works for the Manchester Police Department. As Hall approached the stop sign on South 9th Street, he was heading in the northbound direction. When a bike collided with the front passenger side of the police car, the State Patrol reports that the patrol vehicle drove forward after the collision in order to make a right turn onto West Main Street. An attempt was being made by the biker to cross the street within the crosswalk that had been indicated.

According to the State Patrol, the bicyclist, identified as Kaen Goodman, 14, from Manchester, sustained injuries that seemed to be significant and was sent to the Regional Medical Center in Manchester for treatment.
