Some people in Cecil County found it “disturbing” to learn that the body of a young child had been found in their garden while police were looking for Nola Dinkins.
Elena Russo, a spokeswoman for the Maryland State Police, said that the body parts found in an empty lot on June 11 were consistent with those of a kid. The body’s identity and the reason of death are being looked into by the medical examiner.
A person from Cecil County told WJZ, “Really shocking, especially when you hear how young the poor child was.” “Quite disturbing, that’s for sure.”
It was found near Chloe Elborn’s home on Dune Road in North East, Maryland. She lives in Cecil County.
People say that Darrian Randle, a mother from Maryland, and Cedrick Britten, her boyfriend, killed 3-year-old Nola Dinkins and tried to hide her body before making a fake theft report in Delaware.
The body of a child was found stuffed in a bag.
The police report says that Randle left her daughter in a bag on the steps of the basement overnight. After that, she told Britten to get rid of the bag.
Police say Britten took the bag and sent her a picture of a park along with a map showing where he left the body.
Court papers say that the body parts were found around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday. They looked like those of a severely malnourished child who had been wrapped in Saran wrap.
“It’s just too close to home, like it’s like so close to home, literally,” he said. “As a mom, I can’t picture you doing that to your kid.” It’s crazy.”
Randle, who is 31 years old, is being charged with murder, attack, and child abuse, among other things. A $1 million bond is holding her. Britten, who is 44 years old, is charged with helping to kill someone and has been freed on a $75,000 bond.
A person from Cecil County said, “Well, you don’t expect it, but you also know that some bad people walk among us.”
Confession of killing a child
Charge papers received by WJZ show that Randle admitted to killing her 3-year-old daughter Nola Dinkins. She told cops she made up a story about being kidnapped, which led to an Amber Alert in Delaware.
It was Monday, June 6, and she told cops that she had hit the child with a belt about 15 to 20 times.
Randle told the cops that Dinkins was still lying there after he fell. According to the charging documents, Randle called Britten for help when she noticed the child wasn’t breathing. Britten then tried CPR.
Police said Randle and Britten drove around with the dead child’s body before going back home. Documents show that Randle later asked Britten to throw away the body in the bag.
“I was doing a project out by the lane there, and we saw a flatbed come and take a couple of cars away from the residence there,” a Cecil County person said. “And then police units started showing up from forensics, and we realized there was more to it than that.”
Randle made a fake police report
Charges say Randle called the Delaware New Castle County Police Department on Tuesday to say that Dinkins had been taken at gunpoint off of Gender Road.
As usual, Maryland State Police went to the child’s last known home in the state after an Amber Alert was sent out.
Britten was at the house on Elk Nest Drive in Cecil County, Maryland, when the police arrived. According to court records, he said that he was Randle’s present boyfriend. He told the police that the child had gone with her mother.

The home of Britten in Cecil County was searched by the Maryland State Police. Charge papers say that Britten did not respond when he was told about the kidnap claims.
He told them “he used to be special forces in the military and has dealt with human trafficking before.”
Court records show that during the search of the house, police found gloves in two places: one pair in the trash can downstairs and another pair in Randle and Nola’s room.
The court papers say that a “child-sized” blanket with a “reddish brown smear consistent with blood” was found in Britten’s car.
The blanket wasn’t Britten’s, he told the cops. He got it from a stranger he met in a park in the summer of 2024.
