After her son was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Anne Arundel County on Saturday, June 21, Sheila Kyler is in dire need of answers.
When Kyler went out with some friends in Hanover, his son Emmanuel had recently graduated from the University of Maryland. Emmanuel was struck by a car as he was strolling at around two in the morning when he was waiting for an Uber, and the driver fled the scene.
Kyler remarked, “He’s a good kid who did not deserve this,” “Why didn’t you simply remain? “What prevented you from calling the police?”
“My son is fighting for his life”
According to Anne Arundel County police, Emmanuel was struck by a second vehicle while he lay in the road. However, the driver pulled over and dialed 911.
“They did stay at the location. According to Anne Arundel County police spokesperson Justin Mulcahy, “that person provided aid, specifically CPR, which may have saved his life.”
Emmanuel is still in critical condition at Shock Trauma as of Wednesday. According to Kyler, Emmanuel has a shattered arm and leg, as well as head and spinal cord injuries.
“My son is fighting for his life,” commented Kyler.
Looking for a car that is bronze in color
Investigators stated that they are searching for a car with a golden hue based on evidence found at the location.
The public is being asked for assistance by the police and Emmanuel’s family.
“If you see a vehicle in the area that has damage to the passenger side or driver’s side, front end of the vehicle that’s tan or bronze in color, we want to hear from you,” Mulcahy stated.
“If anyone knows anything that can help us find the person who hurt my son, please reach out to local authorities,” Kyler stated.
Wishing for a miracle
Even if it may require a miracle, Kyler’s top priority is for her kid to get justice.
“I’m hopeful, because I believe in miracles,” Kyler remarked. “If nothing else comes from this, please just say a prayer for Emmanuel.”
