Tafari Ron Clauzel, 23, of Fort Washington, has been charged for his alleged role in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Glenarden resident Corenlius Wilson, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
On Monday, May 19, officers were called around 12:20 a.m. to the 2800 block of Wood Hollow Terrace for a reported shooting, where they found Wilson outside suffering fro multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say that Clauzel and Wilson knew each other and were “in an ongoing dispute.”
Using “various investigative techniques,” detectives identified Clauzel as the suspect, police said.
He was in custody in Broward County, Florida, on unrelated charges, and is set to be extradited back to Maryland to face the first-degree murder charge.
According to the Maryland State Police, Clauzel was taken into custody following an investigation into a fatal incident that occurred earlier this month. Investigators allege that Clauzel was directly involved in the killing, though further details about the victim and the circumstances surrounding the crime have not yet been released.
Officials say the arrest followed the execution of a warrant and involved cooperation between local police and state law enforcement agencies. Clauzel is currently being held without bond as the investigation continues.
Police have not disclosed a possible motive but noted that additional charges may be pending. Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact Maryland Crime Stoppers or their local law enforcement agency.
The shooting remains under investigation.
