A boy, who was 15 years old at the time, sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle driver in McKeesport on Tuesday, according to the authorities.
At approximately 6:50 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Lysle Boulevard and Coursin Street in response to reports of a driver colliding with a pedestrian, according to a press release issued by the Allegheny County Police Department. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered that the vehicle had struck a boy who was 15 years old.
According to Allegheny County police, he was transported to a nearby hospital where he is currently in critical condition.
The boy was attempting to cross Lysle Boulevard in front of a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus when he was struck by the driver of the vehicle, which was traveling in the left lane, according to the findings of the investigation conducted by the police. Allegheny County police reported that the driver remained at the scene of the accident.
