In accordance with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, a motorist in his seventies was sent to the hospital on Friday morning following the collision of his vehicle with a T-Mobile store.
It took place at approximately ten o’clock in the morning at the store that is situated in the 17700 block of NW 57th Avenue.
It was reported by the deputies that the man had gone to the business in order to pay his bill when he suddenly encountered a medical emergency and unintentionally touched the gas pedal instead of the stop pedal, which caused his vehicle to crash into the retail establishment.
According to Felix Morales, who works in a warehouse behind the store and heard the accident, “It was just chaos, everybody was scared, everybody was wondering what was going on,” he said. Morales also described the situation as “complete chaos.”
“Poof, like glass, and I said whoa, that’s kind of weird, and that’s what made me come over here,” Morales explained to reporters.
Everyone else was not hurt.
Because the store had not yet opened, Xavier Thompson, who works in the neighborhood, stated that there was no one who was hurt inside the establishment.
It was reported by the T-Mobile employees that they were located in the rear. No one was present inside. According to Thompson, the event took place before the five minutes that they open their doors.
An further worker in the vicinity named Monica Rodriguez expressed her concern for the individual. “I was concerned for him because I was like, oh my God, what happened, I hope he’s okay,” Rodriguez explained to reporters.
Expected to make a full recovery
The authorities anticipate that the individual will make a full recovery.
The county has determined that the store is hazardous, and there is currently no information regarding when it will reopen.
The news reported that cleanup personnel spent the day working to remove the vehicle and analyze the damage, which included shattered glass and a damaged entryway. The vehicle was included in the assessment. The door frame was not damaged in any way.
In response to demands for comment, T-Mobile did not immediately provide a response.
