The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, Dariel Fernandez, has made an official announcement on the extension of business hours throughout important Tax Collector branch offices. This daring move is intended to modernize government services and satisfy the demands of residents in the real world. The modification, which will take effect immediately, is intended to improve the quality of service provided to working families, senior citizens, and owners of small businesses who have long struggled with limited access during the typical weekday hours.
Extended hours aim to ease the burden on working families
With the exception of the North Dade Justice Center, which will continue to operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, the majority of Miami-Dade Tax Collector offices will now be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday. This change will take effect this month.
Among the offices that are open on Saturdays are:
- Downtown Miami Tax Collector’s Office – 200 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33128
- Miami Central – 3721 NW 7th St, Miami, FL 33126
- Midway Crossings (Suite 82C) – 7795 W Flagler St, Miami, FL 33144
- Florida City – 1448 N Krome Ave, Florida City, FL 33034
- Kendall (coming soon) – 11735 SW 147th Ave, Miami, FL 33196
“This is what government should look like: accessible, efficient, and built around your life—not bureaucracy,” said Dariel Fernandez, who is in charge of collecting taxes. His larger commitment to reforming and improving the delivery of county services is at the heart of this effort, which is part of that commitment.
A modern approach to public service
The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office has formally transformed the Florida City Driver License Office into its fifth full-service office, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the services it provides. In the newly renovated facility, which can be found at 1448 North Krome Avenue, Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez is currently in charge of providing services.
“The goal here is to construct a government that is responsive to the needs of the people,” Fernandez stated. To better serve the people of Miami-Dade County, we are working quickly to create additional offices and to take control of the local government.
Having 17 service windows and the ability to handle up to 400 customers on a daily basis, the office is designed to considerably reduce the amount of time that customers have to wait. On the second of July, 2025, at ten o’clock in the morning, there will be an official ceremony to cut the ribbon.
By increasing the number of hours it is open, the office of the Tax Collector is able to improve convenience, cut down on wait times, and make it simpler for residents to fulfill their tax and registration needs without interfering with their work or family lives.
Following recent modifications to numerous locations under Fernandez’s leadership, which have also included staffing increases and technology enhancements meant to streamline services for all residents of Miami-Dade County, the announcement was made.
