Police say that a mother in Louisiana was caught after she threw her young children out of her car and then called the police for help several hours later.
Shreveport police arrested 33-year-old Laquesha Washington on May 28 after she reportedly forced her two young children, ages 11 and 12, out of her car, with news.
Police were called to a home on Palm Road because children were reported missing. When they got there, they talked to officers from the Shreveport Police Juveniles Crimes Unit who had already talked to Washington.
Investigators say Washington told them she and her kids had a fight on the way home. The kids apparently told police that Washington made them get out of the car near Broadway and Hollywood, then she allegedly drove off and left them there.
The cops said that Washington called them hours later to say that her kids were missing.
A family member called the police to say that the kids had arrived at their house near Andrew Avenue while they were getting information from White.
Washington was charged with two counts of criminal neglect of family after the cops found out what happened. The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services has also been asked to help by detectives.
Police told us that the kids were safe.
