There were three persons injured as a result of a catastrophic motorcycle accident that occurred in Cambria on Monday night. One of the injured individuals was a twenty-year-old guy who sustained injuries that were considered to be life-threatening and required emergency air evacuation to Erie County Medical Center.
At approximately 9:30 o’clock in the evening, the collision took place on the 4800 block of Cambria Lockport Townline Road. Following their arrival at the site, deputies from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office noticed three bikers lying on the street.
According to the officials, the gang was going in a northerly direction when three motorcycles collided with each other and eventually smashed into a barrier.
The Cambria Volunteer Fire Company and deputies from Niagara County were among the emergency services that supplied assistance that had the potential to save lives. The sufferer, a male who was 20 years old, had a major leg injury, and in order to control the arterial bleeding, a tourniquet was applied to his leg.
Following the stabilization of his condition by paramedics from the Cambria and City of Lockport fire departments, he was transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC for additional medical care.
Other riders, including a male who was 31 years old and a woman who was 27 years old, wounded themselves as a result of the collision. An ambulance was used to bring both of them to ECMC for evaluation and treatment of injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
There is still an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office to determine what caused the tragedy. There is currently no additional information that has been made public.
