NYC Public Schools and No Kid Hungry Provide Free Meals to Students All Summer

This summer, No Kid Hungry New York and New York City Public Schools will work together to give away free food all over the five boroughs.

Rachel Sabella, who runs No Kid Hungry New York, said that the food will be given out in parks, schools, beaches, libraries, and on food trucks, among other places.

She also said that the food would be both healthy and tasty, with meals like cheese sandwiches and chicken pasta.

“One thing that public schools in New York City do is test foods for taste.” “It doesn’t get on the menu if kids don’t like it,” Sabella said.

Kids can get free breakfast and lunch seven days a week from the food truck at Haffen Park in the Baychester neighborhood of the Bronx. Sabella said that free breakfast and lunch will be served in about 1,000 places across the city.

If kids can get healthy food, they get stronger as they grow up. They have more people showing up. They do better in school. “No Kid Hungry is thrilled to work with the New York City Schools to bring this program to all of our communities,” Sabella said.
