One Arrested After High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash

As a result of a high-speed chase that resulted in a collision on Monday, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department has identified and taken into custody a male individual.

A number of charges have been brought against Sinclair McDonald Jr., including driving under suspension, dangerous driving, and failing to stop for blue lights and sirens.

According to the authorities, the incident took place as late as 12:30 p.m.

On Interstate 77 South, a deputy from the RCSD observed a black Jeep traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy noticed that the vehicle was traveling above 80 miles per hour in a zone that only allowed 60 miles per hour, according to the authorities.

During the traffic stop that the deputy conducted, McDonald reportedly pulled over on the shoulder, according to the authorities.

After the deputy exited his police cruiser, the Jeep drove off in the opposite direction.

Authorities stated that the RCSD pursued the suspect as he proceeded to flee while traveling at speeds above one hundred miles per hour and disobeying traffic control devices.

Rosewood Drive was the destination that McDonald reached after exiting Interstate 77 South onto Fort Jackson Boulevard.

It has been reported by the authorities that he was involved in a collision with another vehicle that was carrying a driver and one passenger at the intersection of Rosewood and South Beltline.

Both of the individuals appeared to be in good health and declined medical assistance, according to the officials.

Before being transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, McDonald was initially transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
