According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a major roadway in Orlando was shut down early on Thursday morning as a result of a collision that resulted in serious injuries.
At approximately 12:20 in the morning, the incident took place on Sand Lake Road, close to Sand Lake Pointe Loop. This location is located just to the north of State Road 528 and to the west of Orlando International Airport. An immediate response from emergency crews was dispatched to the location, which resulted in the westbound lanes of Sand Lake Road being closed for a number of hours while investigators worked to determine what had occurred.
The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that the collision resulted in the death of at least one individual. Nevertheless, at this time, there has been no additional information released regarding the victim or the circumstances that surrounded the accident incident.
Early morning commuters experienced traffic disruptions as a result of the closure; however, the westbound lanes were eventually reopened after the authorities ended their investigation at the location where the closure occurred.
Due to the fact that the investigation is still ongoing, the authorities are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has information that is pertinent to the case come forward.
