A homeowner was shot in the leg by a suspect who was attempting to steal two of their window air conditioning units, according to officials. The Philadelphia police department is currently searching for the individual who was responsible for the shooting.
According to the law enforcement officials, the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Germantown Avenue.
The man, who was in his 50s, was found by the police officers who arrived at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, according to the officials.
After breaking into the front door, the suspect was able to get the air conditioning units onto the sidewalk before being confronted by the police, as stated by the police.
Following the homeowner’s confrontation with the burglar, the latter shot the victim in the leg and then ran away.
According to the police, the suspect attempted to flee on foot while wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants with a white stripe running down the side of the pants.
The police have stated that there have been no arrests made at this time.
