The Prairie City resident Andrew Jaquez, who is 43 years old, was taken into custody by the Ottumwa Police Department on July 13th, during a traffic stop. According to the cops, Jaquez was a passenger in the vehicle when they observed something that seemed suspicious. Using the assistance of a police K-9, they provided evidence that indicated the existence of narcotics, which resulted in the vehicle being searched.
7.5 grams of a crystalline substance were discovered by the cops during the search that was conducted on Jaquez’s watch pocket. Jaquez is said to have a history of drug-related charges, including three felony convictions for controlled substances, according to the documents filed with the court.
Both the possession of a controlled substance and the refusal to affix a drug stamp are considered to be Class D felonies, and he is currently facing serious accusations for both of these offenses. He is currently being held at the Wapello County Jail on a bond of $5,000. Jaquez is currently being held there. At ten o’clock in the morning on July 23, 2025, there will be a preliminary hearing.
