Rain Chances Return to Pittsburgh Tonight

Rain Chances Return to Pittsburgh Tonight

Tonight, there will be a chance of rain again in the Pittsburgh area.

Are There Any Warning Days Ahead? Not at all

Be aware that today is the last sunrise after 6 a.m. until July 10th. The 52 days of dawns before 6 a.m. that happen every year start tomorrow.

There might be a little sun at the beginning of the day, but by 9 a.m., the skies will be cloudy, and they will stay cloudy all day. Today’s highs will be in the upper 60s. The high temperature yesterday was 67°, and it will be close to that again today.

At noon, it’s going to be in the mid-60s here.

It might rain again this afternoon and evening in our area. Since the dew points are in the low 40s and 30s, the dry air mass means that you probably won’t see anything but a sprinkle before 7 p.m. tonight. Based on the numbers from the models, the first real rain could hit Pittsburgh as early as 7 p.m. tonight (6 p.m. for Wheeling). But once it starts to rain, it’s likely to keep raining until at least Thursday. I do think there will be times when it doesn’t rain for an hour or two before it starts to rain again as new waves come through. I think it will rain at least an inch, and some places might see as much as two inches of rain on Wednesday and Thursday.

There is some good news: this is a long time frame. However, rivers and creeks should still rise. There is also a chance of flash floods with some of the earlier waves.

The highs on Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 60s, and it will rain for most of the day. It will only get down to the low 50s in the morning. It’s going to rain again on Thursday, but not as much as it did on Wednesday. But highs will be much lower. Right now, I think the daily high will only be 58 degrees. Oh no. On Friday, there is a small chance of rain, and highs will only reach the mid-50s. Today will be the coolest day of the week.

On Saturday and Sunday, highs will reach the upper 60s, giving you a little warmer weather over the holiday weekend.

Highs on Memorial Day should be around 70 degrees, and it will likely rain in the afternoon.
