A multi-vehicle incident that was sparked by a police pursuit resulted in a tragic outcome on Saturday morning. An innocent driver, named as Nguyen Huynh Huu Duc, who was 30 years old, was killed near the intersection of Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive.
When officers from the Sacramento Police Department were responding to a complaint about domestic violence around the 7300 block of Farm Dale Way, the collision took place soon after 10:15 in the morning. Officers were notified by the victim, a woman who was attempting to retrieve her possessions, that the suspicious individual might be in the vicinity. San Francisco resident Daniel Cunningham, 33 years old, was found by the police sitting in a vehicle adjacent to the apartment where the crime was committed.
Cunningham evaded the cops who were attempting to conduct a traffic stop, which resulted in the policemen engaging in a high-speed pursuit westbound on Florin Road. In the process of approaching the crossroads at Greenhaven Drive, Cunningham was involved in a collision with seven automobiles, which resulted in a terrifying chain reaction.
Nguyen Huynh Huu Duc, a Vietnamese immigrant who moved to the United States four years ago in search of a better life, was one of the drivers who was struck. He was a resident of Sacramento. While Duc was working as a DoorDash driver, he was also pursuing a degree in engineering. Sadly, he passed away at the scene of the accident as a result of the injuries he acquired in the collision.
Cunningham made an attempt to flee the crash site on foot, but he was detained by law enforcement personnel very swiftly. After being charged with parole violation, domestic violence, and felony pursuit, he was taken to a hospital for examination and then lodged into jail. The charges against him include domestic violence and felony chase. Depending on the findings of the inquiry, the authorities have stated that Cunningham may also be charged with homicide or manslaughter.
