Skyla Wolford wears the silver bracelet that was passed down to her by her stepmother on a daily basis.
In light of the fact that Wolford is nine years old, she informed him that she was going to purchase nine charms for him. She was a jovial and goofy person.
One way in which Wolford recalls Karina Ramirez is as follows. Last week, Ramirez, who was 28 years old, passed away as a result of an accident that occurred on Harry Wurzbach Road. At the time of the incident, Wolford and her sister, Aliyah, were riding in the vehicle.
“The car just came straight at us as we were trying to go home,” Wolford recalled. “We were there trying to get home.”
The 45-year-old Colin McGuane was taken into custody by the San Antonio police department and charged with drunken manslaughter and assault. As of Tuesday evening, his mugshot was not available for public viewing.
According to Naomi Smith, Wolford’s mother, “someone who was drunk literally came dangerously close to taking my baby’s life, and they took her stepmom.” This is causing us pain. The other side of her family is making a lot of sacrifices. Karina’s family is going through a difficult time.
At the same time that Wolford suffered a broken jaw, her sister Aliyah suffered a broken leg. Both have passed out of the hospital and are currently recuperating.
According to Smith, “It seems like every day there is another car accident, somebody getting killed, somebody behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol.”
On that particular evening, Smith and Wolford would like to express their gratitude to the individuals that assisted the girls.
“There is no way that I could thank them enough for being there for my daughter and for her sibling and her stepmom at that time,” Smith wrote. “It is impossible for me to express how grateful I am.”
Over the course of the past week, Wolford has been making greeting cards for the nurses and first responders that she has encountered.
“I just wanted to express my gratitude for assisting me in getting out of the car and making sure that both my sister and I were okay,” Wolford stated.
