San Diego Plane Crash Victim’s Family Shares Heartfelt Memories of Daughter’s Last Moments

Emma Huke was from Orange County and was one of six people killed in the plane crash in San Diego. Her family and community are honoring her life and impact.

Lisa and Tim Huke say their daughter Emma had a smile and personality that could make anyone and any place shine.

“She was busy because she had a lot going on.” “She always wanted to be there and do everything,” Tim said.

A family in Orange County says their 25-year-old daughter was not only nice, but also made sure everyone felt loved, wanted, and like they belonged.

“Emma treated people with kindness and she lived her life that way, everyone in her presence felt that,” said the man.

The pain of missing Emma is so great that her parents say they can’t even begin to explain it.

“Her last thing she said to me was, ‘I’m endlessly proud to be your daughter.’ That was just her way of making people feel good, but I will really be endlessly proud to be her mother,'” Allison said through tears.

Tim and Allison got the terrible call at their Silverado home early Thursday morning.

“Every parent dreads it the most. “To lose a child before you,” Tim said.

Emma is a booking associate for Sound Talent Group and a graduate of the University of Oregon. She was on the private plane coming home from a show at Madison Square Garden when it crashed in San Diego, killing everyone on board.

Allison now keeps a jewelry close to her heart that was found with her daughter’s things.

I looked at the necklace on the way home and saw that it says “Always an angel.” She said, “I was just shocked.”

The family says that all the support shows how much their daughter was loved. To raise money for Emma’s favorite causes, they set up a GoFundMe page before the legacy fund, which will be called “Emma’s Project.”

Her whole life was about being part of a group. She reached out with olive branches to include the weak and the outcast, and she opened her arms and heart to everyone. “That’s how she lived her life,” Tim said. “If anything positive can come out of the devastation of losing my baby girl is to spread that message.”

The Hukes promise to always be kind like Emma so that her love and light live on.

She was my best friend and the joy of my life. “She made me so happy,” Tim said. “I was so proud of her, it was the honor of my life to be her father, it really was.”
