A collision that occurred on Thursday afternoon in Darlington Township, Beaver County, involving a pickup vehicle and a limousine resulted in the transportation of eight individuals to various medical facilities.
In the aftermath of the collision that took place on Constitution Boulevard close to East Palestine Road, the front and side of the limousine sustained substantial damage, and a wheel came off of the pickup truck.
“I thought I heard a loud boom,” said Monica Gross, who works at Harry’s Place, which is owned by her family and is located close. In an effort to assist, she dived in.
“I asked if they needed anything, and I come up to get some wet rags and stuff to wipe the blood off their faces and everything,” Gross explained to reporters.
In total, eleven people were engaged in the collision that taken place. At least seven people, including the driver, were seen by Gross inside the limousine. The state police reported that eight individuals were transported to hospitals. According to the state police, even though the injuries are severe, it is anticipated that everyone will live.
It was reported by Gross that the gang informed her that they were traveling from Ohio to Pittsburgh in order to attend the Pirates game.
“I was scared, because with the girl laying when she got out of the car, was complaining about her head hurt and her back,” Gross explained to reporters. “I thought it was going to be worse.”
He stated that it appeared as though the pickup truck was leaving East Palestine Road when it collided with the limousine that was traveling on Route 51.
Gross is quoted as saying, “He was shaken up.” In spite of the fact that he should not have done so, he did admit that he pulled out and ran to it. Before pulling out of the parking lot, he ought to have waited.
On the side of the road, a tire that had come off of the pickup pickup truck was found. According to Gross, the passengers in the limousine were not wearing their seatbelts.
“They were going to see the Pirate game tonight, and I told them they were crazy because it was raining,” she explained to them.
She is of the opinion that the crash may have been caused by the torrential rain that was falling.
“I’m definitely going to start paying more attention, pulling out,” Gross said to reporters. It makes me feel terrible for the young man since he was on his way home from work and he wasn’t drinking. I want you to know that there was no alcohol involved. It’s just that I feel terrible for the child.
According to the paperwork that was submitted to the police, the driver of the pickup truck was charged with violating a stop sign.
