Four people have been taken into custody by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at Columbia Mall on May 12th.
Following the completion of an investigation into the event, Joey Davis, 21, Thomas Lawrence, 21, J’Lon Martin, 22, and Robert T. Williams, 19, were taken into custody, as stated by Sheriff Leon Lott.
According to the authorities, a man who was holding a baby who was three weeks old was robbed at gunpoint. Following the receipt of a complaint of the heist, deputies responded to the location located at 7201 Two Notch Road.
The thieves allegedly stole the victim’s personal things as well as recent purchases before fleeing in a vehicle, according to the authorities involved.
The suspects and the vehicle that was involved were eventually identified by the investigators.
Davis, Lawrence, and Martin were taken into custody by members of the RCSD Fugitive Task Force on May 23 at the same location, where they were also required to surrender several firearms.
On Tuesday, law enforcement officials made an arrest at Williams’ apartment, taking more firearms with them.
Allegations of armed robbery, two acts of kidnapping, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime have been brought against all four of them currently.
The authorities have stated that Davis, Martin, and Williams have been released on surety bond to their respective families. Even though he was given bond, Lawrence is still being held into jail.
