According to the United States Coast Guard, two passengers were rescued after a tiny plane crashed into Long Island Sound off the coast of Connecticut on Sunday morning.
A report from the Coast Guard indicates that the plane crashed to the southeast of the Thimble Islands, which are situated close to Branford.

At approximately 10:30 in the morning, a Piper PA-32 that was carrying two persons crashed in the seas south of Tweed New Haven Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that it was conducting an investigation into the incident. After arriving, the Coast Guard discovered that the jet had been fully submerged.
In a statement that was provided to CBS News New York, the Coast Guard stated that “Coast Guard Station New Haven dispatched a 45-foot small boat after the Sector Long Island Sound Command Center received notification from the Air Traffic Control tower.”
After being transported to the shore for emergency medical services treatment, the two individuals were declared to be in stable condition, according to a post made by the Coast Guard on social media.
