Jon Burkett was informed by sources from Crime Insider that a murder-suicide occurred on the Southside of Richmond on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of a man and a woman.
At 3:15 p.m., a welfare check was conducted at the 3700 block of Angela Drive. According to reports from Crime Insider, a man discovered his sister and nephew dead while checking on them. The police were summoned to complete the check.
The man and the woman were found by the first responders shortly after their arrival. According to the police, both of them had been shot. Both of them were pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
The investigation is still underway, and the police are not looking for any suspects at this moment. According to the police, the Medical Examiner will identify the means of death as well as the cause of death.
