Summer EBT is a program that was developed by the United States government as part of the “SUN Bucks” project. The program’s primary objective is to combat child hunger and provide assistance to families in the United States that have children and require additional financial assistance in order to provide food for their children during the summer vacation season.
These are vouchers for food that are distributed to families on a monthly basis. With these vouchers, families are offered the opportunity to purchase food for their children at particular shops. The reason for this is that during the school year, thousands of children are provided with meals at their respective schools; however, once the break for the summer vacation arrives, they are no longer eligible for this benefit.
In order to participate in this plan, the majority of youngsters are automatically enrolled. For instance, if the family is eligible for benefits such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), they will be in possession of these summer vouchers without any more action being required on their part.
What can be bought with the Summer 2025 food stamps?
With the summer food coupons, families can buy the following products:
- Fruits and vegetables
- Meat, poultry and fish
- Dairy products
- Breads and cereals
- Snacks and soft drinks
What products cannot be purchased with summer food coupons?
The foods that are prohibited are as follows:
- Hot meals
- Pet food
- Cleaning or household products
- Personal hygiene items
- Medicines
