Two motorcyclists were seriously injured in a collision that occurred in Torrington on Saturday night.
Around 7:30 p.m., police arrived at the scene of the collision on Winsted Road near the Lowes plaza entrance.
According to the police, they discovered two motorcycle riders close to their own, both of whom had serious injuries.
The 32-year-old from Torrington and the 31-year-old from Colebrook were taken to Hartford Hospital by LifeStar after they were called.
Police say the 31-year-old had a critical head injury and the 32-year-old had a bad leg injury.
According to investigators, shortly before the collision, the two motorcycle riders were heading north on Winsted Road in close proximity to one another. They are thought to have crashed as they approached the crossroads with Lowes’ main entrance. In the collision, both riders were flung from their bikes.
Winsted Road has reopened after being closed.
