According to the Chicago Police Department, a young boy of two years old was taken to the hospital after being shot on Monday evening in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.
It was approximately 8:26 p.m. when the shooting was reported to have occurred along North Lawndale Avenue located close to West Ferdinand Street. It was reported to the police that a young boy of two years old entered a bedroom that contained a gun that was not secured, and a man who was present in the house heard a loud noise.
The boy had a graze wound on his left wrist, according to the police report for the incident. In a healthy state, he was transported to a nearby regional hospital.
Officers who were present at the scene discovered a weapon, but they did not take anyone into custody.
