One man was killed and another was hospitalized after gunfire broke out on I-70 in Maryland just minutes after leaving an event at the Frederick Fairgrounds, state police said.
The victim was identified as Eduardo Alexander Alvarado Urrea, 20, of Silver Spring.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.
Troopers were called to the interstate just before midnight on Saturday, June 14, to the 600 block of Lakeview Drive in Mount Airy, where they found a 2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck with six people who were inside at the time of the shooting.
The driver and one passenger also suffered injuries in the shooting and were rushed to. an area trauma center for treatment and evaluation.
Their names have not been released. Three others were not hurt in the incident.

“According to a preliminary investigation, the victims were struck by gunfire from another vehicle traveling east on I-70 shortly after leaving an event at the Frederick Fairgrounds at about 11:40 p.m.,” Maryland State Police said.
The agency’s Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation.
Detectives are asking anyone with dashcam video from eastbound I-70 between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on Saturday to contact the Frederick Barrack.
The investigation remains ongoing.
