Triple Victim Incident in the Bronx 1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Shooting and Slashing

An investigation is underway after one person was killed, and two others were injured in a shooting and slashing in the Bronx on Tuesday, according to police sources.

NYPD officials say officers responded to Southern Boulevard and Westchester Avenue in the Longwood section just before 4 p.m. for reports of an assault.

When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest, and a 15-year-old boy slashed in the face.

Officials say the 18-year-old shooting victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police sources.

The slashing victim was taken to Harlem Hospital, and is expected to survive.

Separately, police say another male was taken to Lincoln Hospital by private means after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. That victim is expected to survive.

Police describe the suspects as three males.

The first suspect is described as wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts, and black sneakers. The second suspect is described as wearing a black t-shirt, gray shorts, black sneakers and a black book bag.

The third suspect is described as wearing a white tank top, blue shirts and white sneakers.

Police say all three suspects fled southbound on Southern Boulevard on foot.

They say two persons of interest have been taken into custody.

A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
