Truck Slams Into Tree in Bloomington, Two Hospitalized Wednesday Morning

After a truck went off the road and collided with a tree, one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while another person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to Bryce Janssen, a police spokesperson, officers from the Bloomington Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Center on Wednesday, July 9, just before 11:30 a.m., in response to a report of a single vehicle collision. The incident occurred close to the Huck’s gas station.

According to Janssen, the truck went off the road and collided with a tree for reasons that are not known. Serious injuries were sustained by the driver, who was taken to the hospital, while the passenger sustained just minor injuries.

According to Janssen, all of the traffic that is traveling south on Center Street is being redirected onto Olive Street. Additionally, the traffic that is traveling westbound on Oakland Avenue is being rerouted and being prevented from turning south into Center Street.

At this point, neither the reason of the accident nor the extent of the injuries that were sustained are known.
