Two Illinois Men, Aged 35 and 42, Identified as Victims of Fatal Plane Crash Near Capron

The identities of two men from Illinois who were killed in a plane crash on Saturday near Capron have been made public by the authorities.

According to the Boone County Coroner’s Office, Scott Wentz, 60, of Grayslake, and Kenneth Serzynski, 74, of Beach Park, both passed away as a result of the consequences of their injuries sustained in the collision.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 28, authorities were dispatched to a corn field located in the vicinity of Capron and Blaine roads in response to a report of a plane crash.

Confirmation was provided by the National Transportation Safety Board. It is conducting an investigation into the crash, which included a single-engine propeller plane built by Vans called RV-10.

A joint investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Aviation Administration is currently being conducted into the deaths.
