Union County Line: Deadly Collision on Maynardville Highway Leaves One Person Dead

A collision that occurred on Maynardville Highway close to the boundary between Knox and Union counties resulted in the death of one individual and the injury of several others.

According to Rural Metro, emergency crews arrived at the scene of the collision at eight o’clock on Friday, June 13. At the intersection of Loyston Road and Maynardville Highway, there was a collision involving three automobiles. Three persons were sent to a nearby hospital as a consequence of the incident, and one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.

A representative for Rural Metro commented that the debris will make it clear that speed was unquestionably a factor in the accident. In addition, the Traffic Unit (TANGO) of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation to discover the precise cause of the incident.

In addition, Rural Metro asked drivers to avoid driving while distracted and to be sure to always wear their seatbelts.
