Woman Killed and Passenger Seriously Injured in Jefferson County Car Crash

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a collision that occurred on Thursday evening in Jefferson County resulted in the death of a woman from Valdosta and brought serious injuries to the passenger of the vehicle.

According to a news statement issued by the Florida Highway Patrol on Friday morning, the collision took place on Thursday evening at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 10 in Jefferson County near mile marker 2017.

According to the state government, a Chevrolet SUV and a woman from Valdosta, who was 49 years old at the time, were travelling west in that region when the woman lost control of the car.

In light of this, the Florida Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle had off the route just a few moments before it collided with a tree.

According to the statement released by the state office, the woman from Valdosta was pronounced dead at the scene of the attack.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the passenger received critical injuries and was sent to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The passenger was identified as a male from Port Saint Joe, Florida, who was 37 years old.

The state agency has informed both the woman and the man’s next of kin that they have been alerted both of them.

According to the news release, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and fire rescue provided assistance to the Florida Highway Patrol in the aftermath of the incident.
